6 Endangered Disney Attractions You Should See Before They Disappear FOREVER (September 2018)

4. Mickey's Backyard BBQ to close later this year

Image: Disney

Location: Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

Status: Closing forever late 2018

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a fan favorite dining establishment outside the hustle and bustle of the theme parks that features all-you-can eat BBQ (plus other delicious items like Jambalaya, Honey-mustard baked chicken, and Strawberry shortcake), as well as live music and line dancing.

However, though this is definitely a popular dining location, it looks like guests will only have a limited amount of time left to experience Mickey's Backyard BBQ, as WDWMagic is reporting that this location is set to close later this year.

Though not said explicitly, this closure is probably due to the rumored Magic Kingdom hotel project, which is in development and will potentially be built overtop the ruins of River Country

5. Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It!

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Closing permanently December 1

The daily Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It! parade will be closing later this year on December 1, 2018, nut will be quickly replaced by the similarly-titled Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party. In this "new" parade, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will invite guests to dance with their pals in front of Cinderella Castle with live singers belting out new arrangements of classic “Mickey Mouse Club” songs. This updated parade will debut in the Magic Kingdom on January 18, 2019.

6. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth

Image: Disney

Location: Epcot

Status: Closing forever summer 2019

After years of rumors Disney has finally confirmed that IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will conclude its almost 20 year run at Epcot at end of next summer, giving guests almost a year to say goodbye to this landmark show. While it is certainly sad to see IllumiNations go, the development of a new nighttime spectacular as this park seems appropriate as this park reinvents itself with the new Ratatouille and Guardians of the Galaxy attractions coming in the next few years.
