Programming note: Though we normally devote some time to Orlando-area parks outside Lake Buena Vista, there has been so much going on at Walt Disney World over the past seven days that we decided to forgo the “beyond” this week. You’ll hear about all the news from Universal Orlando Resort, Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando in next week’s update!

Last week it was revealed that the daily Move It! Shake It! Dance and Play It! parade will be closing later this year on December 1, 2018, and now we know what will be replacing it: the similarly-titled Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party. In this "new" parade, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will invite guests to dance with their pals in front of Cinderella Castle with live singers belting out new arrangements of classic “Mickey Mouse Club” songs. This updated parade will debut in the Magic Kingdom on January 18, 2019.

2. Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc to return to Disney's Hollywood Studios

We learned last week that the Guardians of the Galaxy meet and greet at Walt Disney Presents was closing and now we know what is replacing it: Mike and Sully from Pixar’s Monsters, Inc! These beloved characters have not been seen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for several years, but have been confirmed to be returning to this park on January 18 2019, when this new meet and greet is set to open inside the Walt Disney Presents attraction.

3. New Incredibles mini-land to be built at former Pixar Place

Elsewhere at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it was announced this week that Disney will be transforming the former Pixar Place into an Incredibles-themed area that will feature a character meet and greet with the one and only Edna Mode. In addition guests can look for clues to the whereabouts of Jack-Jack and participate in periodic dance parties with music, dancing, interactive games and more in this newly-themed area.
