This week at Walt Disney World, a refurbishment is extended, an upcharge experience is cancelled, plus two interesting dining changes come to Disney's Animal Kingdom!
Outside Walt Disney World, Universal's newest nighttime spectacular officially debuts at the park, plus tickets are now available for a new show taping!
1. Restaurantosaurus testing new evening lounge concept
Beginning this weekend, a section of Restaurantosaurus will be roped off and turned into a lounge serving light bites and themed beverages. The new lounge will open daily at 5:00PM for the next few weeks. It is unknown how long this limited-time test will last.
2. Pizzafari begins family-style service later this month
Elsewhere at Disney's Animal Kingdom, starting July 31st, Pizzafari will add a new "family style" option to the restaurant that allows guests to make reservations ahead of time, place your drink orders at the counter, and then have their food delivered to them in a special seating area. Guests will then be able to enjoy their choice of 2 appetizers (Caprese Salad and Ceasar Salad), 3 entrees (pasta, chicken, and pizza) and dessert, all served family style.
Pizzafari Family-Style Dining will be offered between 5pm and 8pm daily and will cost is $19.99 for guests ages 10 and older and $11.99 for guests ages 3-9, including tax and non-alcoholic beverages.
3. Liberty Square Riverboat Refurbishment extended
Though the the Liberty Square Riverboat was supposed to reopen to guests this month, this refurbishment has been extended until early fall. In addition, according to WDWNT Tiana's Riverboat Party Ice Cream Social & Parade Viewing upcharge experience will not be returning to the park when this attraction reopens later this year.
