Even though Disney’s Animal Kingdom has had a bit of a low-key year in 2018 after the blockbuster opening of Pandora – The World of Avatar in 2017, things are still quite busy at this park, especially as this new area is still driving big attendance gains at this park. In fact, though Disney's Hollywood Studios opened Toy Story Land just a few weeks ago, Avatar - Flight of Passage is still the hottest new attraction at Walt Disney World, continuing to command three hour waits more than a year after it opened.
However, though the big news out of this park continues to be the long-lasting success of Pandora – The World of Avatar, there are some other changes going on around this park that you should definitely know about.
1. Rivers of Light gets a new dessert party
Though Rivers of Light, the nighttime spectacular at Disney's Animal Kingdom, has not enjoyed the same kind of popularity as Happily Ever After, IllumiNations, or Fantasmic, Disney has introduced a new Rivers of Light Dessert Party upcharge experience that will take place on select nights beginning on Monday, August 6th.
Much like other dessert parties, this one includes an hour-long dessert party that includes several treats themed to the show, as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The party is held at the Rivers of Light Asia Viewing Area Terrace (located across from Expedition Everest), and includes viewing of the show from a special VIP Seating Area.
Guests can now make reservations for this new experience, which costs $79 for adults and $47 for children including tax.
2. Tiffins gets new $35 lunch menu options
Though Tiffins has been lauded by foodies as having a wonderful menu, some have said that this restaurant's selections are too adventurous for most theme park visitors, and prices are too high. However, guests who want to give this restaurant a try can now experience a brand new two course lunch menu for just $35 per person.
Appetizer selections include Apple Walnut Salad or Spiced Chickpea Falafel, while the main course selections include Wagyu Beef Tagine, Paella, and Roasted Chicken Breast. And for dessert, you’ll get a dessert duo with South American Chocolate Ganache and Guava Mousse.This new option is served from 11am to 3:30pm daily.
