4 Last-Minute Things You Should Know About Toy Story Land Before This Weekend

In just a few days Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios will officially open on June 30th. And though we already know all about extended hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios and how this park will handle FastPass+ reservations in this new land, some additional details have been revealed about this new land mere days before it is scheduled to welcome its first guests.

1. There's not a lot of shade here

Though previews for Toy Story Land have thus far been limited to Cast Members and select VIPs only, one of the big things we've been hearing from those who have already been to Toy Story Land is that there is not a lot of shade in this new area. Which doesn't sound too bad, but when you're dealing with Florida heat and humidity in July, and you have queues that are not covered, it can become an issue, as guests have to deal not only with the temperature, but potential issues with sun exposure as well.

You can catch a quick glimpse of the land in the video above, and as you can see, there really isn't much in the way of coverage in this land, as everything seems to be outdoors, and there aren't any trees or shady spots anywhere around.

2. Slinky Dog Dash will have an interactive element inside its queue...sort of

As we mentioned previously, most of the queue for Slinky Dog Dash is outside, and is mainly comprised of switchbacks. However, if you find yourself in this line and in need of a distraction, Disney will be releasing the new Play Disney Parks app on June 30th, and guests who are in the Slinky Dog Dash queue can play the “Andy’s Boardgame Blast!” mini-game exclusively in this line.

Guests who download this app can also earn, collect and share uniquely themed achievements, rewarded for playing games, answering trivia, completing challenges and experiencing select attractions, outside of Toy Story Land.
