Toy Story Land is Almost Ready to Open. Here's What You Need to Know

Back in February, Disney announced that Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios would finally debut in the middle of summer on June 30th, to somewhat of a lackluster response from fans. However, even though fan anticipation for this new land hasn't exactly been on par with that of Avatar - The World of Pandora or the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,  Disney is actually expecting some pretty huge things from this new land, and has even gone as far as to offer daily morning Extra Magic Hours from 7AM to 8AM and evening Extra Magic Hours from 10PM to 12AM on Fridays only all summer long.

However, even though it looks like things are pretty much lined up for Toy Story Land's debut this summer, some additional changes are being made right now to get things ready for the opening of this new land.

1. FastPass+ at Disney's Hollywood Studios gets restructured

Though we're still about three months away from the opening of Toy Story Land, Club-level guests who purchase the FastPass+ advanced reservation add-on are now able to select attractions from this new land and as you might have guessed, Disney's Hollywood Studios has changed the tier system in place at this park to deal with the opening of the new land.

Under the updated system, all three Toy Story Land attractions (including Toy Story Mania) have been made Tier 1, with former top-tier attractions like Fantasmic!, the Tower of Terror, and the Rock 'n' roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith all knocked down to Tier 2.

2. New FastPass+ restriction now in testing

In addition to this change at Disney's Hollywood Studios, earlier this week Disney made a resort-wide change to how guests can "modify" FastPass+ reservations. Though guests used to be able to transfer FastPass+ reservations from one guest to another in their party, that option has been removed, and guests who make FastPass+ reservations are no longer able to give up their reservations to someone else, and can now only add to their party, if additional reservations at the same time are available.

Though this additional change may be more in preparation for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge than Toy Story Land, it looks like Disney is using the opening of this new land to test this new feature and ensure that there are no ways for guests to claim or hold FastPass+ reservations they aren't intending to use ahead of time.
