1. Sweet Spells closing next week at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Though it was rumored last month, it looks like it has been confirmed that the Sweet Spells snack location at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be closing forever on April 15th. The space occupied by this bakery and treat shop will be converted into additional retail space, reportedly themed to Toy Story in anticipation of Toy Story Land opening later this year. Many of the baked goods sold at this location are already available at the Trolley Car Cafe location, hopefully including the iconic Carrot Cake Cookie.
2. New character experience coming to Pandora - The World of Avatar
Beginning April 22, guests visiting Pandora - The World of Avatar will be able to interact with a new Utility Suit Pilot character inspired by the film. This new character can be found wandering the land wearing a Pandora Conservation Initiative Utility Suit to help him study the wildlife, collect plant samples, and survey Pandora’s terrain. You can learn more about how this new experience is being created in the video above.
3. Grand Floridian Gala cancelled
Several weeks ago, The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa announced it was hosting a special $185 per person gala to celebrate the resort's 30th anniversary on June 30th that would include special entertainment and an open bar. However, it looks like this event has been cancelled, and guests who have purchased tickets have already been refunded.
