The 7 BIG Updates From Walt Disney World (And Beyond) This Week (March 26 - April 2, 2018)

This week at Walt Disney World, FastPass+ is suspended temporarily at Toy Story Mania in preparation for Toy Story Land, DVC Members get a new event, plus we get another sneak peek at Star Wars Land's signature attraction

Outside Walt Disney World, 2018 dates for Halloween Horror Nights are confirmed at Universal Orlando Resort plus a new two-for-one ticket deal is announced!

1. FastPass+ temporarily discontinued for Toy Story Mania beginning this week

Because of construction related to the opening of Toy Story Land, Toy Story Midway Mania has had limited capacity the past several weeks. And in an effort to deal with this limited capacity, FastPass reservations for this attraction will not be available from April 9th through May 7th 2018, with the standby line being the only option for guests who want to experience this attraction during this period.

2. A new exhibit is announced for The American Adventure

Though the biggest draw at The American Adventure pavilion is of course the show that shares its name with the entire pavilion, this location is also home to the American Heritage Gallery, which offers a look at some often-overlooked pieces of history. This summer, this gallery will be hosting a new exhibit titled "Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art".

This new exhibit is being produced in cooperation with of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) in Washington, D.C. Some of the featured artists with works on display will be fashion designer Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo), noted doll maker Glenda McKay (Ingalik-Athabascan), and Juanita Growing Thunder (Assiniboine Sioux) from the Growing Thunder family of Montana.
