An Interesting Part of Epcot Quietly Just Became Off Limits

Making repairs to the physical structure of the building

Wonders of Life ceiling

Even though the former Wonders of Life building is no longer in use on a daily basis, this facility still needs regular maintenance, and if Disney has fallen behind on making repairs to the actual structure of the building (especially after 2017’s active hurricane season), Disney could be keeping this building closed for the current festival while repairs and upgrades are made to the structure itself to keep it in guest-ready condition.

Could something new be coming to this pavilion?

We’re extremely skeptical of this final possibility, but whenever something closes or goes off limits at Walt Disney World, rumors immediately start circulating about new attractions. And while it is certainly possible that Disney could be planning to revamp the Wonders of Life building with new attraction(s) sometime in the future, with so much going on at Epcot (keep in mind that in addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, construction has also begun on the Ratatouille attraction in France and a new Space-themed restaurant is still being planned for Future World) it seems unlikely that Disney would be adding another massive project to the docket right now at Epcot.

Though we don’t know for sure why Disney decided not to use the former Wonders of Life building as the Festival Center for the 2018 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, it seems a little premature for fans to get their hopes up for something new coming to this building. In all likelihood this closure is due to construction or maintenance, and we’ll probably know more by the time the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival rolls around this fall.

What do you think is happening in this now off-limits area of Epcot?
