4 Things You Should Know Before Visiting Toy Story Land This Summer

Last week Disney announced that Toy Story Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios would finally debut in the middle of summer on June 30th, to somewhat of a lackluster response from fans. However, even though fan anticipation for this new land hasn't exactly been on par with that of Avatar - The World of Pandora or the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,  Disney is actually expecting some pretty huge things from this new land, which is why they are making some interesting adjustments for the mid-summer opening of this new land...

1. Disney's Hollywood Studios will be offering every day Extra Magic Hours this summer

According to the official park calendar, on Toy Story Land's opening day Disney's Hollywood Studios will be open for an extended day from 8AM to 11PM. Following that, the park will be open daily from 8AM to 10PM and will also offer daily morning Extra Magic Hours from 7AM to 8AM and evening Extra Magic Hours from 10PM to 12AM on Fridays only.

This move seems inspired by last year's daily Extra Magic Hours at Pandora - The World of Avatar, which helped resort guests experience this attraction after hours with more moderate waits for this land's two signature attractions. And while we're not expecting Toy Story Land to be nearly as popular at the newest land at Disney's Animal Kingdom, the fact is that neither of the two new attractions that will be a part of this land look like they will have very high hourly capacity, which may make wait times a bit excessive, even if crowds for the opening of this new land are more moderate than we've seen in the past.

2. Pixar Place is officially going away

Because the new entrance to Toy Story Mania is being constructed at the back of the existing attraction building on the Toy Story Land side, the current entrance to this attraction, as well as the surrounding Pixar place walkway in front of it will be walled off once Toy Story Land opens. Though nothing has been officially announced regarding this development, we'd imagine that the construction walls for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will likely move forward as this part of the park becomes part of an additional connection to this new land, which is due to open next year.
