This week at Walt Disney World, Disney makes a big announcement about the future of Disney's Hollywood Studios, plus the resort recieves some good news about attendance so far this year.
Outside Walt Disney World, LEGOLAND Florida announces a springtime opening date for its newest attraction, SeaWorld Orlando announces entertainment acts for its latest concert series, and Busch Gardens also announces entertainment for its Food and Wine Festival.
1. Minnie Vans expand to Pop Century Resort
Just two weeks after expanding the Minnie Vans amenity to provide service to the Orlando International Airport, Disney has brought this on-demand transportation option to Disney's Pop Century Resort. This is an interesting development, as this is the first Value resort to offer Minnie Vans as a transportation option.
2. Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable now closed permanently
After more than two decades, Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable (which has been at The Land pavilion since 1995) had final showing on February 3 2018. Though this space may eventually be used for another attraction, in the short term this theater will be taken over by Disney Performing Arts group, for performances and classes primarily for visiting youth
3. Toy Story Midway Mania temporarily discontinues FastPass+ distribution this spring
Because of construction related to the opening of Toy Story Land, Toy Story Midway Mania has had limited capacity the past several weeks. And in an effort to deal with this limited capacity, WDWNT reports that FastPass reservations will not be available from April 9th through May 7th 2018, with the standby line being the only option for guests during this period.
4. New MagicBand colors coming this month
Last month Disney released the new "millennial" pink MagicBand color and now two additional colors are going to be debuting: navy and cream. The Navy MagicBand will be available as part of a Peter Pan design, and the cream MagicBand is available exclusively as part of a designer Dooney and Bourke design (pictured above) that will sell for $48
