This week at Walt Disney World, The Guardians of the Galaxy move into the World Showcase, rare characters join the lineup at both Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom, plus a high profile project is reportedly cancelled!

Programming note: Though we normally devote some time to Orlando-area parks outside Lake Buena Vista, there has been so much going on at Walt Disney World over the past seven days that we decided to forgo the “beyond” this week. You’ll hear about all the news from Universal Orlando Resort, Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando in next week’s update!

In what has to be the weirdest thematic development for Epcot's World Showcase yet, it was announced this week that the Guardians of the Galaxy would be moving into the America Gardens Theater this summer for a limited-time Dance Party. Beginning on Memorial Day Star-Lord and Gamora will take the stage along with an alien band to play hits from Awesome Mix Tapes 1 and 2 several times a day.

2. New show at Disney's Animal Kingdom to open in April
