This week at Walt Disney World, a new hotel perk debuts, a popular dining location announces a lengthy refurbishment, plus more changes come to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Outside Walt Disney World, a new show is announced for Islands of Adventure plus the MArdi Gras concert lineup for 2018 is revealed!

1. Special paid-for FastPass+ reservations available now for club-level deluxe hotel guests

The biggest news this week is that Walt Disney World is now offering club-level resort guests the ability to purchase three additional FastPasses to use on a given day as part of a new upcharge offering. These three additional FastPasses will cost $50 per day, per person and can be used at any park. The service will only be offered to club-level guests who have a 3-day minimum stay.

This new upcharge can be purchased now, and guests with upcoming visits who are thinking of purchasing this option should know that Disney will be extending the FastPass reservation window for these special premium FastPasses, as guests who purchase this add-on can book their reservations an unheard-of 90 days in advance, now getting first crack at getting reservations for popular attractions like Avatar – Flight of Passage, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Frozen Ever After, which all often "sell out" early as guests snap up FastPass+ reservations in advance.

And in a final perk for purchasers of this upcharge, club-level resort guests who buy these extra FastPasses will also receive a special pass for premium, reserved seating for any of the nighttime spectaculars offered at any of the four parks. It is unknown how or if this program will be expanded in the future, but we're definitely keeping an eye on this new "perk" as it could be an indicator of more FastPass+ upcharge opportunities to come in the future.

2. Winter Summerland miniature golf cuts hours

Effective today, Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will close at 10:00 PM instead of its normal 11:00PM closure. This reduction in hours is reportedly due to lower guest volume.  Though extended offers may be offered in the summer or during peak periods, on most nights this location will continue to close at 10:00 PM.

3.Kringla Bakeri og Kafe closing for long refurbishment

Beginning in just a few weeks on February 4, World Showcase favorite Kringla Bakeri og Kafe will be closing for a very long refurbishment that is expected to last several months, potentially mid-way into the summer. During this lengthy closure, the inside will be expanded and redecorated.

Though fans of school bread might be a little bit upset by this news, Disney has announced that a temporary kiosk called Midnattsol Bakeri will open on the World Showcase promenade that will feature many of the pastry items will be served at the temporary location, including the aforementioned school bread!
