This week at Walt Disney World, two new annual passholder perks are announced, DVC members gain access to an ultra-exclusive upcharge event, plus rumors swirl about a potential re-opening date for The Hall of Presidents

Outside Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort introduces an interesting new dining expeirence and SeaWorld announces a new way for guests to save before the holidays!

1. Disney's Hollywood Studios offers free magnet for Annual Passholders

In yet another effort to draw guests to Disney's Hollywood Studios by any means necessary, Disney has announced that from December 1 through December 17, 2017 annual passholders can grab a special holiday themed magnet perfect for sticking on the back of a car. These special gifts can be picked up at the following retail locations: Mickey’s of Hollywood, Celebrity 5 & 10 and Once Upon a Time.

2. Annual passholder holiday dining discount announced for select Disney Springs locations

And speaking of annual passholders, Walt Disney World annual passholders who find themselves shopping this holiday season at Disney Springs can take advantage of a new dining discount this holiday season. The following table service restaurants will offer a 10% discount through the month of December at the following locations:

  • T-Rex Cafe
  • Rainforest Cafe
  • Paddlefish
  • Terralina Crafted Italian (opening this month)
  • Raglan Road Irish Pub and restaurnat

This limited time discount is only available through the new year and cannot be combined with other offers.

3. The Hall of Presidents rumored to be reopening in 2017

The Hall of Presidents officially went down for refurbishment on January 17th, and Disney originally planned to reopen this attraction six months later on June 30th. Even though this was already a long refurbishment, Disney announced earlier this year that this attraction would miss its summer 2017 reopening target date, and would likely reopen much later this fall.

And while the refurbishment was originally scheduled through December 31, 2017 on the official Hall of Presidents attraction page, a new report from WDWMagic indicates that this attraction might actually be opening before the end of the year after all. Though Disney has yet to say anything official about this attraction re-opening any time soon, it would certainly be a good thing to have another open attraction at the Magic Kingdom before the holiday rush of guests crashes the most-visited theme park in the world, even if the reopening of the Hall of Presidents has been embroiled in some controversy since its closing earlier this year.

4. Special Kurt Russell upcharge event now available for DVC Members to purchase

On December 10th, Disney will host a special one-night only event with Disney Legend Kurt Russell. Open to just 60 DVC Members, this special event at Epcot will begin with an approximately 45-minute, on-stage conversation with Kurt Russell about his Disney, filmmaking and winemaking career, during which attendees will taste two varieties of GoGi Wines. Afterwards, attendees will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to personally meet Kurt Russell.

Cost is $125 a person plus tax, and tickets can only be purchased by DVC Members. The event will take place from noon-1:30 p.m. in the East Hall of the World Showplace pavilion, and attendees will also get priority seating for the 5:00 PM Candlelight Processional.

One year for Hall of Presidents...too late for my elderly mother to visit it.

How to make a Historical Attraction and politicize it...bad move Iger.

Disney is spending 40 million dollars or more on upgrades to Epcot and other parks and the employees aren't going to see one red cent of that
