Could Nintendo Land Be Coming to THREE Universal Parks in Florida?

We’ve known about Universal’s plan to bring Nintendo Land to Universal Orlando Resort for nearly two years now, and earlier this year, several leaked documents all but confirmed that this new land was coming to Universal Studios Florida, replacing much of the area now occupied by Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone.

And while these documents also seemed to confirm several of the rides and attractions that will be a part of this new land (expected to officially begin construction in 2018), a new report has surfaced this week that seems to indicate that Universal’s plans for Nintendo inside its theme parks are a lot more ambitious than we originally thought…

The next Wizarding World of Harry Potter?

Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, local Orlando-based news station WFTV published a report that suggested that while Universal’s plans for Nintendo may officially kick off at Universal Studios Florida, Universal is also quietly preparing to eventually add more Nintendo rides and attractions to Islands of Adventure as well, making this the second land to “cross over” to Universal Orlando Resort's other theme park, after The Wizarding World of Harry Potter made the jump from Islands of Adventure to Universal Studios Florida in 2015. However, Universal's plans for Nintendo -themed lands doesn't just stop there.

According to an unnamed source, Universal is also planning on adding some version of Nintendo Land to one of its new theme parks, which of course are still unannounced but may open shortly after the beginning of the next decade. While these plans are of course very fluid and more than likely quite dependent on how these parks take shape, it is very interesting that Universal is not only thinking of expanding Nintendo Land already, but is looking beyond its own current borders. And while you might not think one license could form the basis of three distinct lands across three different parks, the prospects are actually pretty exciting for fans of Nintendo...

Almost endless character opportunities

Though unconfirmed, right now it is looking like the (potentially) initial iteration of Nintendo Land will focus almost exclusively on classic Nintendo characters like Mario and Donkey Kong, with a Mario Kart interactive dark ride acting as an "E-Ticket" of sorts for this new land, and a mine-train style Roller Coaster featuring Donkey Kong adding a "C-Ticket" style attraction. In addition, rumors and leaked documents seem to indicate that Peach's Castle will be erected in this new land, forming a visual "weenie" for this new land that should be visible from all around the park (perhaps with the exception of Diagon Alley)

However, while the above lineup certainly sounds impressive longtime fans of this video game giant know that these two characters only scratch the surface of this company’s deep bench. Franchises like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon and more are extremely popular, and it seems logical that Universal would want to use them at future Nintendo lands, wherever they might be constructed.

So when might we learn more about this expansive new project? It could be sooner than you think...
