More Changes Are Coming to Disney Springs. Here's What You Need to Know (September 2017)

Disney Springs has become quite the subject of controversy for the past few years, with some outspoken fans saying this re-imagined shopping district has become too much like an outlet mall and isn’t really keeping with the “spirit” of the former Downtown Disney district any more. However, no matter how you feel about the changing face of this location, in the two years since this shopping district opened, Disney has been making a lot of changes, opening new stores, offering great deals, and even hosting some character-based events.

This month, an annual tradition returns for its sixth year, a limited time upcharge experience returns to Amorette's Patisserie, plus new drinks are available at some of Disney Springs' most popular establishments!

1. The Great Irish Hooley Returns to Disney Springs this weekend

The sixth annual Great Irish Hooley will return to Disney Springs for Labor Day weekend at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant starting today. This annual tradition celebrates Irish song, dance, food, and drink, and features one-of-a kind live entertainment. This year's festival is headlined by the Lisa Canny Band as well as Elevation, a U2 Tribute Band. In addition, Celtic Face Painting will be available from 5:00 PM Friday and from noon Saturday through Monday. You can learn more about all the entertainment options here

2. New Italian restaurant Maria and Enzo coming to Disney Springs as part of The Edison complex

Disney has announced that a new Italian concept named Maria & Enzo will be coming to Disney Springs later this year. This new location is from the Patina Restaurant Group, who you may recognize as the name behind Walt Disney World favorites like Morimoto Asia, Tutto Italia and Via Napoli. This new Italian restaurant will have a bar area as well as a fast-casual dining area, and will look like a repurposed airline terminal with an underground rum running tunnel right next to The Edison, which itself is supposed to look like a run-down electrical power plant. Maria & Enzo's is planned to open by the end of this year or early 2018.
