Walt Disney World has earned a reputation not just for having the best-attended and most well-themed parks in the world, but also for hosting a number of top-quality events during the year. From massive events like Epcot International Food and Wine Festival to smaller celebrations like the recent observation of National Hot Dog Day, (which brought special limited-time menu items to Casey's Corner at the Magic Kingdom for one day only earlier this week), there seems to always be something special happening at the resort. And in the past few weeks, Disney has announced two interesting limited-time events that you might want to check out in the near future, including the surprising return of an old favorite...

PhotoPass day will return sometime this fall

Last week Disney surprised fans by announcing that it would be bringing back PhotoPass Day for a second year, again on August 19th. Last year this event, which allowed guests to take free PhotoPass pictures at designated spots around Walt Disney World as well as get some shots with rare and hard-to-find characters at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, was a surprise hit, and Disney has said that this year's event will be bigger and better than the last.

Though Disney hasn't yet announced what specifically will constitute this bigger event, it has been confirmed that Disney will at least be expanding the rare character offerings to all four parks, as last year's event only saw rare characters appear at Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, which will hopefully mean shorter lines. Last year's event was an unexpected hit, and lines for rare characters like Mushu swelled to several hours almost as soon as they were available, which was a bit of a hassle for guests who didn't want to stand for a long time in the sun while the summer heat was beating down. Hopefully by spreading this event out a little bit more across all of Walt Disney World, the lines for rare character meet and greets won't be as intense for the 2017 edition of PhotoPass day.

Of course, the big question for the 2017 PhotoPass Day is exactly what characters will appear as part of this one-day event in just a few weeks. And while there has been no announcements quite yet, we're hoping some of Disney's long lost friends will make an appearance. Last year saw Mushu, the Queen of Hearts, and even Pinocchio, Gideon and Foulfellow appear throughout the park, and we'd love to see even more rare characters appear this year, including (hopefully) princes and villains, who are both woefully underrepresented in the parks during regular (non-party) operation.

Although this event is happening next month, there's also another special event that is actually happening right now at Disney Springs...
