Although Disney’s PhotoPass has undergone some big changes in recent years (most notably, integration with My Disney Experience and MyMagic+) some additional alterations and enhancements have been made to this essential service in recent weeks. No matter whether you are a seasoned pro or just an infrequent user of the PhotoPass service, you’ll notice these changes immediately the next time you’re at Walt Disney World, as they apply to all guests.

From a sudden price hike for the Memory Maker add-on to the addition of more than half a dozen new PhotoPass picture locations around Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom, here are all the PhotoPass changes happening around the resort now that you need to know about!

1. PhotoPass on-ride photo now available at Pirates of the Caribbean

Beginning this weekend, guests who ride the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at the Magic Kingdom will be able to view an on-ride PhotoPass photo that will be taken during the first third of the ride, right before guests take the plunge down the ride's flume. Like other on-ride PhotoPass photos, guests will need to be wearing a MagicBand to see this photo, and the photo will be automatically uploaded to the My Disney Experience app once they exit the ride. From there, the image can be purchased, or those with Memory maker, it will be available for download. Photo kiosks in the gift shop will not be available.

In addition to the new on-ride photo, Disney has also added a new ship-in-a-bottle Magic Shot inpired by the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales film. Guests who want to take this special photo can now do so right outside the attraction.

2. Pandora - The World of Avatar photo ops and Magic Shots now available

Now that guests no longer have to queue to enter Pandora - The World of Avatar, Disney has introduced a number of special PhotoPass locations inside this new land where gests can get unique photos commenorating their trip to this intergalactic location.
Guests will find photographers stationed in front of the various water features in the center of this land during both night and day for simple, scenic portraits, as well as in front of the mech suit next to the Satu'li Canteen. However, those who want to check out of some of Walt Disney World's more ambitious magic shots, will also find some really exciting photo opportunities in this new area.

First up, guests who have their picture taken in front of the the iconic floating mountains during the day will be able to see a flying banshee in their photo, recalling the Flight of Passage attraction. And for guests who stick around after dark, PhotoPass photographers can add a woodsprite (the likes of which you might recognize from the Na'vi River Journey) floating into their photos in both a Magic Shot and Animated Magic Shot for an extra special photo memory from this new land.

We love Photopass. We stop at a photographer every chance we get. We bought annual passes last November and having Photopass included cinched the deal. The photos are my favorite souvenirs. Also one of the cheaper ones. We're going again in 8/17 & 11/17 and can't wait to see the new photo spots. I really recommend Photopass. Call me an extreme Disney World fan!!
