1. Incredibles Super Dance Party to end next week?
Though Disney has yet to make an official announcement, it looks like the Incredibles Super Dance Party could be coming to an end (at least seasonally) next week. According to the most recent times guide, this Tomorrowland mainstay will have its last day of operation on April 29th, as there are no times listed for the party from April 30th onward. While nothing has been confirmed, if you love this dance party, you'll want to drop by Tomorrowland this week, as we have no idea when it is going to return.
2. New details revealed about Walt Disney World's new gondola project
Though we already knew that Disney was moving forward with its new gondola transportation project, new information came out this week thanks to an Orlando Sentinel article that revealed that Disney will be constructing three seperate "lines" for gondolas and will have six different stations serving guests. In addition, we know that gondolas will be fully enclosed, and hold a maximum of ten guests. You can learn more here.
3. Refurbishment announced for Splash Mountain
In a somewhat strange move it has been announced that Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom will be going scheduled for a lengthy refurbishment later this summer. The refurbishment is planned to kick off on August 28th and last over two months, reopening to guests on November 17th. This late summer closure is a bit unusual, both because of the length, and the fact that it is being done in summer instead of winter, when the attraction normally goes down for regular maintenance. We'll be keeping an eye on the rumor mill in the next few months, as this could be an early indication that Disney plans to do some major work on this attraction in the very near future.
4. Partial Maharajah Jungle Trek closure happening now
In other refurbishment news, the Maharajah Jungle Trek's tiger exhibit at Disney's Animal Kingdom is now down for refurbishment, and will be closed for the next two weeks, reopening to guests on May 5th. Although the closure of the tiger exhibit is a bit of a bummer, the rest of the Maharajah Jungle Trek will be open as normal during this time.
