Big things are happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios behind this park’s many, many construction walls. And while we’re still waiting for additional details and opening date announcements for both Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land, some other changes are happening right now inside the park that visitors should know about. From a number of character shuffles to the addition of a new summer-only show and even the extension of a popular preview, here's everything going on right now at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

1. Moana leaves to make way for the Guardians of the Galaxy

Last fall Disney brought Moana from the film of the same name to One Man's Dream at Disney's Hollywood Studios for a limited time to promote the new movie inside this attraction. However, now that the DVD has been released for this movie, the promotion is no longer necessary, and Moana will be moving out sometime in the next few weeks.

And while we don't have a timeframe yet, we now know (thanks to Disney's internal audition site) that Disney will be debuting a brand new "character experience" to replace Moana involving Peter Quill and (potentially) Groot as well to promote the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 film, which is coming to theaters later this spring. We don't have a start date yet for this new experience, but an updated audition listing says potential actors should be available for the part in less than 30 days, so we'd assume this switcharoo will happen soon.

It is unknown if this new character experience will move into the same corner of One Man's Dream that is currently occupied by Moana (which would make sense if a preview of the new Guardians of the Galaxy film plays in the theater next door), or if these characters will have an outside "show"-type experience (like the limited-time Doctor Strange experience late last year), but it looks like Marvel fans will have something new to experience at this park in the near future.

2. BB-8 character experience coming in mid-April

And speaking of characters at Disney's Hollywood Studios, it has been confirmed that the new BB-8 character experience will debut on April 14th at the Star Wars Galactic Nights special event. After this date, this fun character will be available for all guests to meet daily in a dedicated location at the Star Wars Launch Bay. And in case you were wondering, current Launch Bay residents Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, who are also available for meet and greets at this location, will continue to appear alongside this new character.

3. The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters to debut this summer

Beginning later this year on May 26th, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will debut The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters, a limited-time concert event that will showcase memorable music from classic Pixar Animation Studios films, including Up, Cars, Toy Story, and Finding Nemo. However, this won’t just be your run of the mill show, as Disney is actually going to have a live orchestra performing the music, instead of a backing track (like what is used for every other show at Disney parks). In addition to the live music, attendees will also be able to see classic Pixar characters during the performance, including Woody, Jessie, Mike, Sully, the Incredibles and more.

Interestingly, this new show will not be sticking around for long, as Disney has confirmed that the plan is to only offer this show temporarily through the summer season, which means it will likely close sometime in September.

The Music of Pixar LIVE! A Symphony of Characters will be performed three times nightly at the Theater of the Stars while Beauty and the Beast runs on a modified schedule to accomodate this new show.
