This week at Walt Disney World, 2017 has finally arrived, and with it brings some big changes to the Magic Kingdom, including a brand new show. In addition, a fan favorite snack returns to Disney's Animal Kingdom, reservations are now available for the latest dining package at Epcot, plus yet another January refurbishment is announced!
Outside Walt Disney World, a big rumor surfaces about a new nighttime spectacular for Universal Orlando Resort, plus a fun annual event returns to Busch Gardens Tampa later this month!
1. Churros return to Disney's Animal Kingdom
Earlier this year we were shocked when churros were completely removed from Disney's Animal Kingdom with almost no warning. And though we didn't expect them to return at the time, we're happy to report that this weeks churros returned to this park and are now available at Dino Bites Snacks in DinoLand U.S.A. for $4.29.
2. Dining packages now available for Broadway performances during Epcot International Festival of the Arts
Last week Disney announced the lineup of Broadway stars who will take the stage at America Gardens Theatre to perform the award-winning music of Disney on Broadway as part of the inaugural Epcot International Festival of the Arts, and this week it was confirmed that a new dining package that includes guaranteed seating for these performances will be available.
Reservations for this new meal and performance combination are now available via phone (1-407-WDW-DINE), and guests can choose between having breakfast, lunch or dinner as part of the package. No matter what meal you choose, dining package holders will enjoy either a three-course meal or full buffet as well as guaranteed seating for the 8:00 PM concert of the day. Prices range from $39-$69 (plus tax) for adults, $23-$41 (plus tax) for children aged 3-9. Though reservations are not yet available online, they should be in the next few days.
3. Characters in Flight to get a new look for 2017
The Characters in Flight balloon at Disney Springs is closing for a short refurbishment this month from January 9 through to January 13, reopening to guests on January 14 2017. When this attraction reopens, this giant balloon will have a brand new look more in tune with the Disney Springs style.
