Character meet and greets are a big part of what makes a trip to Walt Disney World so special, and in recent months Disney has taken it upon themselves to make a number of improvements and changes to their character lineup. While not all of these changes have been popular with guests, Disney is constantly making adjustments to try and make their character offerings as diverse as possible while still keeping things running efficiently around the parks.

This month's character changes include a new event at Disney's Hollywood Studios that gives guests early access to the park's characters as well as a recent character invasion in Norway plus another location change for one of the Magic Kingdom's most famous duos!

1. Early Morning Magic announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios and includes several character experiences

Earlier this week Disney announced that its Early Morning Magic event (which was originally announced for the Magic Kingdom earlier this year and includes exclusive access to three Fantasyland attractions as well as a buffet-style breakfast) would be extended into the late summer and fall at this park. However, in an interesting twist, it looks like this event is also expanding into Disney's Hollywood Studios as well, which may be of interest to character fans especially.

Like its Magic Kingdom cousin, the Disney's Hollywood Studios version of Early Morning Magic upcharge event will kick off before the park opens, and allow guests to begin entering the park at 7:45am to experience a number of attractions, including Toy Story Midway Mania and Star Tours. A buffet-style breakfast at the ABC Commissary restaurant will also be included. However, of interest to character fans, this event will also include several character meet and greets, including Buzz and Woody at Pixar Place, Mickey and Minnie on Commissary Lane, and Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight.

Though none of these character meet and greets have had particularly high wait times this summer, if you are trying to get your meet and greets out of the way quickly with no wait whatsoever, this event seems like a good choice, especially if breakfast was a part of your plans anyway.

This newly expanded event kicks off on August 1, 2016 and will cost $69 per adult and $59 per child (ages 3-9), plus tax.

2. Chip and Dale on the move at the Magic Kingdom again

Though it was only a month ago that Chip & Dale traded in their Western-inpired duds in Frontierland for space-age outfits in Tomorrowland, it looks like these chipmunks are on the move yet again at the Magic Kingdom. Guests who are wanting to meet this famous duo can now do so in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland, near where the Casy Jr. Splash Pad area is. And interestingly, these two characters are now meeting guests without any outfits at all! Though this seems like a permanent change, with all the shuffling going on around the park for this duo, we wouldn't be surprised if even more changes are in the cards for these two characters in the coming months.

I Hope Elena will arrive before my family goes to Disney in a few weeks.
