Last week, Disney kicked off summer in the most thrilling way possible, with the introduction of nighttime attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom, the opening of the third track at Toy Story Midway Mania, and the return of the original Soarin' at Epcot. However, Disney is far from done, with nearly half a dozen new attractions set to debut later this summer, and even more on deck in the years to come.

For our summer update, we have some pre-opening details on Frozen Ever After, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, plus more developments happening in the multiple construction zones at Disney's Hollywood Studios. But first, let's take a look at some of the attractions opening later this year...

22. Soarin’ Around the World

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: June 17th, 2016

In just over two weeks, the new, globally-focused Soarin’ Around the World film will debut at The Land pavilion. Work on the third theater is complete, and while we're counting down the days until this new attraction debuts, Epcot has brought back the original Soarin' Over California for a limited engagement that will run all the way up until June 17th. Here's a little preview clip Disney has released to get guests excited about this upcoming attraction.

21. Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: June 17th, 2016

Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire will begin performances at the Magic Kingdom on a newly refurbished stage in front of Cinderella Castle in just under a month, on June 17th. Though we knew that this show was set for a summer debut, this is a lot earlier than expected, and certainly great news for those who are looking forward to this exciting new show that features not only Mickey and his pals, but also friends from Tangled, Princess and the Frog as well as Frozen.

20. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: June 17th, 2016

Friday, June 17th will also see the debut of another hotly-anticipated show at Walt Disney World: Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. Disney is wasting no time getting this show ready for primetime, and part of the reason for the rush to get Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular up and running is reportedly so that Disney can stop the current Symphony in the Sky fireworks as soon as possible, as the fallout zone for this nightly spectacular is right over the construction area where Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land are set to take shape. The sooner Disney can shift to the new show, the faster they can get to work on the various construction projects around Disney's Hollywood Studios, which is definitely a good thing!

This ambitious new show will be the most technical nighttime spectacular to ever be performed at Walt Disney World, and will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects and high-definition video projections to create a truly immersive experience for Star Wars fans to enjoy.

19. Frozen Ever After

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: June 21, 2016

Frozen Ever After at Epcot's Norway pavilion, will welcome its first guests in just a few weeks on June 21st. This new attraction will use Maelstrom's old boat system to tell a truncated version of the events of Frozen, as told by the troll characters. It will also have a small cameo from the "snowgies" popularized by the Frozen Fever short.

18. Royal Sommerhus Frozen Meet and Greet

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: June 21, 2016

Opening on the same day is the Royal Sommerhus, which will allow guests to meet Anna and Elsa at their summer retreat. Interestingly, Disney has confirmed that there will not be FastPass+ reservations available for this experience when it opens, which means you'll have to lace up your sneakers and sprint if you want to be among the first to see these royal sisters in their new digs.

17. The Coca-Cola Store

Status: Confirmed

Opening in: Summer 2016

This new store will be inspired by a 1920’s-era Coca-Cola bottling plant, and will feature not only a wide selection of Coca-Cola merchandise, but will also have a Coca-Cola "Polar Bear" experience and refreshing rooftop beverage bar for guests to enjoy. Construction is ongoing, and we do not yet have an opening date for this new shopping experience, but it should be open sometime in the near future
