5 Endangered Disney Attractions You Should See Before They Disappear FOREVER (May 2016)

Theme park attractions come and go all the time, and even though we’d like all our favorite rides and shows to stick around forever, the sad fact is that we have to say goodbye to at least a few every year.

This month, we take a look at two attractions that are leaving Epcot in the next several weeks, a popular dining location that is closing at Disney's Hollywood Studios this fall, plus some interesting changes coming to the Magic Kingdom after a certain royal duo leaves in just a few weeks. Looking out farther ahead, we look at when the temporary Jungle Book: Alive With Magic might close to make way for Rivers of Light.

1. The Sum of All Thrills

Location: Epcot

Status: Going Extinct May 27th, 2016 (Unconfirmed)

Though the The Sum of All Thrills attraction at Innoventions has been thrilling fans since 2008, it looks like this popular exhibit, which allowed guests to design and then "ride" custom roller coasters (thanks to the clever use of a robotic Kuka arm and some large screens) it looks like this ride will see its last day of operation later this week. Though Disney still hasn't confirmed this development, the Sum of All Thrills completely disappeared from the Epcot guide map last week, and Cast Members are reporting that this attraction will see its final day of operation next week on May 27th. If The Sum of All Thrills does indeed close next week, it would leave Innoventions with only two exhibits left, which could spell doom for this larger attraction

2. Anna and Elsa at the Princess Fairytale Hall

Location: Magic Kingdom

Status: Going extinct June 16th, 2016

We've got just under a month to go before the world of Frozen comes to life inside the Norway pavilion at Epcot, which means its is your last chance to see Anna and Elsa at the Princess Fairytale Hall at the Magic Kingdom. Though its unlikely, guests may want to double-check if FastPass+ reservations are available for this meet and greet while it is still open, as the new Frozen character experience will not include FastPass+, at least at the beginning, and lines are likely going to be quite long for those wanting to meet these royal sisters during the initial opening period of the Royal Sommerhus.

However, back to the Magic Kingdom, it has been confirmed that once Anna and Elsa leave, Cinderella will return to meeting with Aurora (who has been wandering the Magic Kingdom since she was kicked out of the Fairytale Hall) and Rapunzel will go back to meeting with Snow White. Though it hasn't been explicitly stated yet, new Princess Elena of Avalor may also be coming to this location later this summer, as this character has been confirmed to be coming to the Magic Kingdom later this year, but without a specific location.

3. Writer's Stop

Location: Disney's Hollywood Studios

Status: Going extinct September 2016

Though the Writer's Stop snack location at Disney's Hollywood Studios was originally supposed to close as part of the larger Streets of America, this snack location got a temporary reprieve, serving as a lounge of sorts for the nearby Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. However, a few Cast Members have confirmed that this fan favorite will indeed be closing this September. This is in line with other reports that work on Star Wars Land is expected to really ramp up in mid-summer (after the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular debuts), and while we don't have a specific closing date, if you want to get one more iconic Carrot Cake Cookie from this location, you'll need to stop by soon!

I hope Disney changes Rapunzel meet to be with Tiana. It would be perfection since Tiana and Rapunzel are in a show together.
