8. Hello Kitty meet and greet debuts at Universal Studios Florida

Though the Hello Kitty shop that replaced Lucy: A Tribute has been open at Universal Studios Florida for nearly a month now, this week this shop officially had its “grand opening”, which was attended by none other than Hello Kitty herself. Guests who stop by this store will now not only be able to peruse a variety of Sanrio products, but can also meet Hello Kitty herself and pose for photographs as well.

9. Busch Gardens announces Earth Day plans

Busch Gardens Tampa has announced that it will be celebrating Earth Day this year on April 23rd with special various keeper talks, games and other activities happening around the park between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Tables will be set up in the Edge of Africa, Myombe Reserve, Penguin Pointe, Cheetah Run, Jungala, Conservation Cabin, and the Animal Care Center, and guests can even win special Earth Day prizes throughout the day.  

10. New manatee viewing area opens at SeaWorld Orlando

Earlier this week SeaWorld Orlando opened a new Manatee Rehabilitation guest area that allows visitors to see the behind-the-scenes rescue and rehabilitation work SeaWorld does to save wild manatees. Though this facility was previously available as part of a behind the scenes tour, this area will now be open daily so guests can learn more about the issues facing manatees in the wild today.
