The 10 BIG Updates from Walt Disney World (And Beyond) This Week (December 28 – January 3)

7. Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue closing (for real this time)

Though the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue show was initially set to perform its last show ever last month, this show got a stay of execution, with its final run extended into the new year. However, that ends this week as the show will finally close for good Tuesday, January 5th.

During its final day of operation this show will be performed at 12:45 PM, 2 PM, 4:10 PM & 5:40 PM and will then cap off its run with a special passholder-exclusive performance at 7 PM. Admission to the final performance will be limited to 1,100 Annual Passholders, and those wishing to attend will need to check in at Studio Audience Center (located near the entrance of the park, past the turnstiles, off to the right) on the day of the event to pick up tickets starting at 9AM. Note: there will only be one ticket available per Annual Pass, and passholders must be present to get ticket (so in other words, no picking up a ticket for a friend).

8. The Hulk ready to be rebuilt?

Though the Islands of Adventure skyline still looks incomplete without The Hulk roller coaster, several reports have surfaced via social media that pieces of track have been fabricated and are now on their way for assembly at Islands of Adventure. In addition, supports are begining reassembled in a backstage area. Though we still don't have an official re-opening date for this attraction, with all of these developments hopefully this means that we’ll get one soon!

9. New Butterbeer dessert debuts at The Leaky Cauldron

Butterbeer has gone through many permutations over the years. First guests only had to choose between flat or frozen. And then warm Butterbeer came along to keep guests toasty in the fall and winter months. Most recently, Universal introduced a Butterbeer  ice cream variety that debuted along with Diagon Alley.

Although even the most Butterbeer crazed fan might tell you that four varieties of Butterbeer is enough, apparently Universal doesn’t agree, as the resort quietly debuted a Butterbeer flavor of potted cream earlier this month at the Leaky Cauldron. At $5.29, this is one of the more expensive permutations of Butterbeer, but if you’re looking for a unique sweet this new offering is definitely worth a try.

10. SeaWorld Rescue store opens

A SeaWorld Rescue store popped up just before Christmas at SeaWorld, replacing the former SeaWorld 50th anniversary shop. This new store features clothing, stuffed animals and other "SeaWorld Rescue"-themed items. Five percent of the purchase price for items bought at this shop goes toward the SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund.

We were at One Man's Dream on 1/1/16 and the biographical Walt film was being shown then.

Which Joffrey's kiosk is closing in Hollywood Studios? I'm hoping Writer's Stop sticks around. As I can't have the sugary iced coffee from the machines at the counter service restaurants, and dislike Starbucks coffee, it's my favorite place in Disney to stop!
