The 8 BIG Updates from Walt Disney World (And Beyond) This Week (December 21-27)

6. Universal Orlando Resort closes deal for more land

The big news out of Universal Orlando Resort this week is the confirmation that only a day before Christmas, the sale of an additional 450 acres of land parcel to Universal Orlando Resort parent company Comcast has been completed. However, even though this initially seems like cause for celebration, Universal hasn't had a lot to say on the matter, and has refused to comment on this development, likely because they aren’t exactly sure at the moment how they are going to develop this land (which is zoned for both hotels and theme parks incidentally). We’ve got a lot more about this development here.

7. New volunteer vacation package announced for Universal Orlando Resort

Universal Orlando Resort has announced a new vacation package that not only includes an on-site hotel stay and theme park tickets, but also gives guests the chance to have a four-hour volunteer experience at Give Kids the World Village. Round trip transportation between Universal Orlando Resort and the village is provided as part of the package, and guests will be assigned a specific "job" during their allocated volunteer time. You can check out pricing and a whole lot more details here
