The 11 BIG Updates From Walt Disney World This Week (November 16-22)

6. Mission: Space adds capacity to Orange side

Over at Epcot, we recently mentioned that Mission: Space was being bumped up to Tier 1 FastPass+ status in just a few weeks, and in order to prepare for this change Disney has made a small alterations to the different ride bays, switching one of the green “less intense” simulators to the orange “more intense” experience. Clearly Disney is expecting more guests to go for the orange experience as there are now a total of 3 orange simulators and only one green, under the current configuration. 

7. Made with Magic debuts at Epcot

Made with Magic products, which currently light up in time with Fantasmic, The Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights, and Wishes, will soon be rolling out at Epcot to interact with key moments that occur in World Showcase. Though details are scarce at the moment we do know that these changes will roll out November 23, and will likely bring new elements to the Illuminations nighttime spectacular. 

8. Sephora, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley stores heading to Disney Springs

Though Disney has not officially announced it, WDWMagic reports that luxury brands Sephora, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley are recruiting employees to work in new stores opening at Disney Springs in 2016. These new stores are expected to open in the centrally located Town Center district.

9. Walt Disney World to begin accepting Digital Disney Gift Cards

Earlier this week it was announced that retail locations all across Walt Disney World are now able to accept digital Disney gift cards. These cards, which can be stored on digital wallet apps like Passbook, GoWallet and Gyft, produce a unique a bar code that can then be scanned at the register. Guests can then instantly see their remaining balance on their device of choice.

10. Flower and Garden festival extended to 90 days in 2016

As reported previously, 2016’s Flower and Garden Festival will now kick off on March 2nd, and run every day through to May 30th for a total of a record 90 days, making this the longest annual event in the history of Walt Disney World. You can read more about what to expect from 2016’s event here.

11. New Star Tours sequence debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Earlier this week Disney debuted a new “destination” for Star Tours inspired by new film The Force Awakens. For the next few weeks, this new video will be automatically play at the start of the attraction, with a random destination following this initial clip. Interestingly, Disney also made some small but noticeable alterations to existing scenes as well and added those to the attraction’s cycle as well. You can read more about these changes here.

While an excellent show, I don't see a reason to waste a FP+ choice on Flights of Wonder.
