The 10 BIG Updates From Walt Disney World (and Beyond) This Week (August 23-29, 2015)

7. Fast & The Furious ride announced

Earlier this week, Universal Orlando Resort confirmed what we've suspected for a long time: The Fast and the Furious: Supercharged is coming to Orlando. This brand new ride will debut in 2017, and will be taking over the area currently occupied by Disaster and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue. While Disaster is confirmed to be closing next week, Universal has not announced when Beetlejuice will take his final bow, and some have speculated that this popular show is just moving, rather than closing altogether.

8. Universal details new passholder deals for September

In an effort to boost post-summer attendance from local residents, Universal has announced several limited time perks for annual passholders this month. Guests with their pass (and of course a valid ID) in September will recieve:

  • $1.75 off movie tickets at the CityWalk AMC.
  • 20% off Hollywood Drive-In Golf.
  • A free digital photo download from either Men in Black: Alien Attack or Jurassic Park River Adventure.
  • A buy one, get one 50% off deal for pre-purchased quick service dining plans.
  • Early park admission one hour prior to park opening Monday through Friday.

9. Discovery Cove offers Florida resident discounts through 2016

Discovery Cove is offering Florida residents a special offer through December 2015 that reduces the starting price of a Dolphin Swim Experience package to $219 plus tax, and bring the Day Resort package (which does not include dolphin swim) down to $149 plus tax. Those that take advantage of this deal will also receive unlimited admission to SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica from the date of their reservation through Jan. 31, 2016.
