Though May will be bringing some exciting events to Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom in the form of Star Wars Weekends and 2015's annual 24-hour event, some interesting things are happening this month at Disney's Animal Kingdom as well.

From a new potential animal experience going through a trail period to the opening of a long-awaited expansion at the close of the month, those looking to do something new at this park will have plenty to explore this month!

1. Grab a bite to eat at the Harambe Marketplace’s quick service windows

Late last week it was announced that the Harambe expansion (which was announced last year) will be welcoming its first guests later this month. The centerpiece of this expanded area will be a collection of four quick service windows that will serve a number of dishes inspired by different African regions.

The first of these four windows,  Kitamu Grill, will offer guests skewered grilled chicken and a kabob flatbread sandwich. The nearby Famous Sausages window will feature a new take on the classic corn dog, with a South African sausage called a boerewors dipped in curry-infused corn batter.

Third window Chef Mwanga’s will serves a spice-rubbed karubi rib with green papaya-carrot slaw and fourth window Wanjohi Refreshments will offer beverages wines, specialty cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic lemonades as well.

There are certainly a lot of choices in this new area, and fortunately there will be plenty of seating as well, with space for more than 200 guests to eat comfortably.
