As temperatures heat up around Walt Disney World, guests looking to cool down for a little while will start heading to the resort's two water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Though it has been several years since either of these parks has gotten a new attraction, this year will bring several new notable changes that may help bring new guests to these parks this summer.

1. Teen Beach Party event

Though Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have their own special events this summer in the form of the Sounds Like Summer concert series and the second annual Frozen Summer Fun event, it looks like Typhoon Lagoon will be joining in the fun and getting its own event this year as well!

Every day May 22 through July 5, guests at Typhoon Lagoon will be able to take part in a Teen Beach 2-themed beach party at various times throughout day in specially designated party zones marked on the map. Activities include relay race & beach ball games, water balloon fights and even hula hoop contests. And of course no dance party would be complete without a DJ spinning some retro tunes with several “bikers” and “surfers” dancing along with you!

2. New water park hopper feature

Though most guests visiting Walt Disney World during the summer simply bypass the water parks in favor of the four theme parks, Disney has announced a new "water park hopper" ticket feature that may be enough to get guests that had previously written off the water parks interested in them again.

This new ticket feature essentially allows guests with a one-day water park ticket to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach to "hop" between the water parks (when they are both in operation) on the dates that their ticket is valid, for no additional cost. Though Disney has been getting a lot of heat lately for diminishing value from ever-increasing ticket prices, this deal essentially gives guests access to two parks for the price of one, providing guests who haven't yet experienced these parks a great opportunity to check them out for reduced cost.

Great news on the park hopping! Hopefully this means they will put in place buses between both water parks.

No Disney as much as the tickets are now you should include at least one water park day. Come on Disney I'm a Disney crazy go ever year but all this changes and price hikes are making it so we can't afford it any more. PS no more Frozen
