Though it wasn't a big surprise, last week the walls and curtains around the lobby at Disney's Polynesian Villiage Resort finally came down to reveal a brand-new, refreshed area. This new area might not have much in common with the Polynesian Resort lobby of old, but we can say that it does have a very simple charm to it.
Though the decision to remove the iconic waterfall from the Polynesian Villiage Resort was fairly controversial, you can peruse these photos and decide for yourself whether the changes are an improvement or a step in the wrong direction.
New lighting fixtures and small water feature
One of the most striking features that will imediately draw guests' eyes is the new, colorful lighting fixture suspended from the ceiling.
Though this little waterfall certainly isn't as majestic as the former water feature, it is a nice little throwback to the Polynesian Villiage Resort's erstwhile icon.
The backside of the feature features a beautiful arrangement of flowers.
