Frozen Fun

Frozen Fun may have kicked off this past summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but this popular event has gone global, making its way to Tokyo Disneyland just a few months ago. Most recently, Disney has confirmed that Frozen Fun is indeed coming to Disney’s California Adventure this January (an announcement that has been rumored for several months).

Though some of the elements of this event will be familiar to those who have experienced the Orlando version, there are some big differences between these two events that will make the Disney California Adventure Frozen Fun event the best yet.

1. The Frozen Sing-Along gets the stage it deserves

As much as we love the version of For the First Time in Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration that plays daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Premiere Theater, this small venue has always felt a little cramped, both for audience members and performers.

However, the show will be getting a major venue upgrade at Disney California Adventure in the form of the Muppet*Vision 3D theater in Hollywood Land, which has been transformed for this event into the Crown Jewel Theatre from Arendelle. This theater will offer more space and some extra theming touches that simply aren't possible at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios version, which should make this fun show even more enjoyable.

2. Olaf’s Snow Fest brings new activities for guests

Stage 17 in Hollywood Land will be transformed into Olaf’s Snow Fest as part of next year's Frozen Fun at Disney’s California Adventure, and while this new area does have a few elements in common with the Frozen Snowground that was present at this past summer’s event in Orlando (namely, a snow play area as well as a snack bar), there are plenty of new things in this area that will delight Frozen fans.

Chief among these is a meet and greet with a a walk-around Olaf (the kind you can currently see at the Magic Kingdom during A Frozen Holiday Wish) as well as periodic musical performances by festive groups like the The Frolicking Fjords and The Tubadors. Olaf’s Snow Fest even includes a snow slide for young children to enjoy.
