December brings a lot of limited time events to Walt Disney World, with most revolving around the imminent holiday season. Though all of these are returning annual events, each of them has new elements for 2014 that make them worth checking out, even if you've seen them in years before.

1. Candlelight Processional at Epcot introduces new narrators for 2014

Candlelight Processional is one of the most popular Christmas events at Walt Disney World, and features a pageant-style choir performance of traditional Christmas carols interspersed with segments from the Christmas story, recounted by a celebrity narrator.

This year’s event kicked off last week with Jodi Benson, and features returning narrators Neil Patrick Harris, and Edward James Olmos, as well as new narrators Joe Morton, Ana Gasteyer and Jonathan Groff. If you are planning on checking this event out, it is strongly advised that you either arrive a few hours early, or take advantage of the Candlelight Dining Package, which includes a meal at selected restaurants around Epcot and guarantees seating for the performance.

2. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth features a refreshed Peace on Earth finale

Though Epcot offers a special finale for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth every year during the holidays, this year’s Peace on Earth finale features substantial changes. Walter Cronkite’s narration has been phased out and replaced with a new voiceover performed by Mary Thompson Hunt.

This year also sees the use of new, brighter and more colorful laser effects, as well as new pyrotechnic choreography. Though this year’s finale isn’t quite all new, there are enough fresh elements to make it worth a view this year if you are in a festive mood.

3. Holidays Around the World at Epcot gets three brand new seasonal shows

Epcot’s Holidays Around the World event kicked off this past weekend at Epcot and introduced a number of brand new events at the various country pavilions, including a demonstration of the Chinese lion dance celebrating the Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival in China, a journey through seasons of holidays in Morocco, and a musical celebration of the Fiesta de Navidad in Mexico.

All three of these new performances take place intermittently throughout the day, and guests can check their times guide to ensure they don't miss out on these brand new additions to the Holidays Around the World lineup.
