This week’s central Florida theme park update features a pair of rumors about Universal Studios Florida, a new passholder perk just for the holidays at SeaWorld, an educational mini-event taking place next month at Busch Gardens Tampa and more. We’ve got all the latest news and rumors about central Florida’s non-Disney parks, so let’s jump right in!
1. Could a new attraction be coming to Universal Studios Florida?
Parkscope reports that a construction permit has been filed that would see the partial destruction of the Garden of Allah area at Universal Studios Florida.
It has been long rumored that a walk-through attraction might pop up in this space in celebration of the park’s 25th anniversary next year. Could this new development be confirmation of this rumor? It certainly seems likely, but we’ll hold off on calling this one a sure thing until we hear something official.
2. SeaWorld gives pass members a shiny new perk
Are you a SeaWorld Orlando pass member? If so, you can get the above 50th anniversary ornament for your Christmas tree for free. In order to get it, you’ll have to log in to the Pass Member website and register to pick up the ornament in the park. The ornament will be available from November 22 - December 31, of course while supplies last.
3. Busch Gardens announces mini-event for International Cheetah Day
December 6th is International Cheetah Day, and Busch Gardens is trying to raise awareness by playing host to a mini event from 10AM-3PM in front of the Cheetah Hunt attraction. Activities will include timed sprints, educational opportunities, keeper talks and more. Though this won’t be a big event, this sounds like a great opportunity for kids to learn a little bit more about these animals.
