Holidays around the world

Though the Christmas season has only just begun at Walt Disney World, some big changes and announcements have been made regarding this year’s holiday event lineup.

If you are planning on checking out any of Disney’s holiday-themed activities, including those at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot and around the resorts, make sure you are aware of these changes and updates as you finalize your Walt Disney World holiday plans.

1. A second, earlier seating time has been added for the Frozen Premium Package on select nights

Frozen

It looks like the Frozen premium package (which was announced just over a month ago) has proven to be quite popular and has already sold out on a number of days. However, in an effort to allow as many guests to experience this event as possible, Disney is adding a second, earlier seating time for Frozen Premium Package holders who wish to visit between the busy school holiday period between December 25 and January 1. Seating time will directly precede the original time and last from 5:30pm - 7:00pm (the now sold out time is between 8:00pm - 9:30pm)

Though 5:30 sounds a little early for a party that includes reserved viewing for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, nightfall should arrive around 5:40PM at the Walt Disney World resort during these dates (at least, according to calendar website Time and Date), so the early seating should provide a good value for those wanting another shot at enjoying all that the Frozen Premium Package has to offer. Guests might not be in darkness the entire time, but they'll at least have a solid hour without the sun to enjoy the lights.

2. Holidays Around the World to kick off at Epcot November 28th with Tastes from Around the World weekend

Holidays around the World

Though Christmas festivities are already underway at the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will have to wait a little longer to get into the holiday spirit at Epcot as the dust settles from the recently concluded Food & Wine Festival. This year’s Holidays around the World event has been confirmed to begin November 28th and will run until December 30th.

The event will kick off in style with a special “Tastes from around the Globe” weekend taking place November 28th-30th which will include special festive holiday fare from countries all around the World Showcase promenade.

We will be arriving in Orlando late morning on December 4th. We will be spending the rest of the day at EPCOT. We are looking forward to seeing the Candlelight Processional and Christmas (Holidays) around the World. This year we'll stand in line to get a seat as opposed to sitting on the wall in front of the American Experience and not being able to see anything.
