Seven Dwarfs Mine Train concept art

The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will open at Disney's Magic Kingdom in spring 2014, and is one of the most highly-anticipated new theme park attractions for 2014. We've taken a look at 7 fun facts about the ride previously, including a glimpse at its unique ride system (which will see the cars swinging back-and-forth as they round corners). But what about the ride's storyline? Relatively little is known about it, other than that it will be told from the perspective of the Seven Dwarfs themselves, rather than Snow White. We also know that it will feature both indoor and outdoor scenes, as well as animatronic characters. We can't yet piece together the full storyline, but we can take a look at 7 scenes that we believe will be included in the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train when it makes its long-awaited debut. Be warned - there are some minor SPOILERSahead!

1. The interactive queue

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train queueGuests will meander up dirt paths through the forest surrounding the mountain that houses the mine until they reach a covered queue. They'll then enter the mine itself, where they'll board one of five trains. Interactive elements are set to be featured in this queue line.

2. The mine scene

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train mine sceneIn what promises to be the major show scene in the attraction, riders will pass by animatronic Seven Dwarfs characters as they work the diamond mine. Disney has promised that "exciting new technology" will be used to bring the characters to life.

3. The mine tunnel and exit

After exiting the mine scene, riders will race through a tunnel, as seen in the teaser video above. It's just a rumor at the moment, but there are suggestions that a scene will play out with Dopey in which the clumsy dwarf accidentally sends the riders' train in the wrong direction, back out into the woods instead of further into the mine.

4. The drop into the forest

5. Racing through the forest

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train waterfall scene We already know that the exterior of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be designed to blend in with the other attractions surrounding it. From the back, it will resemble a seaside village (complete with a waterfall), tying in with Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid. As they race through the forest, it appears that riders will come close to this feature.

6. The Evil Queen

This one's unconfirmed, but Disney Imagineer Dave Minichiello previously said of the Mine Train: "There are special appearances - cameos - from other key characters within the film. Just be careful who you take apples from!" This is a pretty clear indication that there'll be a cameo from the Evil Queen, who menaced riders on the former Snow White's Scary Adventures dark ride.

7. The cottage

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train cottage scene One aspect of the layout that has been confirmed is that it will end with a scene showing the Seven Dwarfs celebrating along with Snow White in her cottage. This is likely to be the main appearance of Snow White in the ride. Find out everything we know about the Magic Kingdom's new ride by checking out our Seven Dwarfs Mine Train guide.

Wonderful! Thanks so much for the info.
