LEGOLAND Florida has announced that it will open an on-site hotel in early to mid-2015, with construction work having already begun.
The latest LEGOLAND Hotel will be modelled on those at LEGOLAND Windsor, LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Billund. It will feature 152 brightly-colored rooms, and heavy LEGO theming throughout. Alongside these, it will also host a restaurant, a pool and interactive play areas.
The hotel was announced by general manager Adrian Jones at a special groundbreaking ceremony, as seen in the video below:
The development of the hotel is designed to help LEGOLAND Florida lure more visitors away from Orlando, for longer stays. With competition from the likes of Disney, Universal and SeaWorld, however, LEGOLAND Florida owner Merlin has a tough battle on its hands to convince families to make the trip.
