Alton Towers has extended the opening hours for several of its Scarefest 2013 Halloween events, reversing a previous decision to close the park earlier than in previous years.
Scarefest 2013 will run from October 19 - November 3. Whereas the park has stayed open until 9pm during every night of the events in previous years, in 2013 the events from October 21-25 had instead been scheduled to close at 7pm. However, the park is now expected to remain open until the later hour on every day of the Halloween celebrations.
This year's events will feature a familiar format, with a range of horror mazes and family attractions on offer. The most notable change is to the park's line-up of horror mazes. Although this will be identical to last year's event, featuring Carnival of Screams, The Sanctuary and Terror of the Towers, Carnival of Screams will now be free to all guests. Terror of the Towers, which has been free in previous years, will be a premium attraction.
Tickets for the Scarefest events can be booked in advance via the Alton Towers website and are priced at £34.65 for adults and £29.25 for children.
