Kings Island will announce a world-record breaking new ride on August 8, 2013, with rumors pointing to a Bolliger & Mabillard Wing Rider roller coaster.
The ride will occupy the former site of the Son of Beast wooden coaster, which was removed in 2012 after suffering from years of problems. Kings Island has kept the nature of the new addition under wraps, but sparked a furore earlier this week when images of a B&M Wing Rider coaster dubbed "The Bat" were briefly posted to its official website before being taken down.
Owner Cedar Fair has a recent track record of working with B&M, with a Wing Rider coaster - GateKeeper - having opened at flagship park Cedar Point earlier this year. However, the short-lived The Bat pages could possibly have been a diversion to throw fans off the scent. The Bat moniker was previously applied to a suspended coaster at the site.
Whatever the case, Kings Island fans don't have long to wait - TPT will bring you news of the park's announcement on Thursday.
