Thirteen roller coaster

Alton Towers has changed the attraction line-up for its morning Early Ride Time periods, as well as cutting the hours for its popular Scarefest Halloween events.

Guests at the Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Landings Hotel, as well as those with pre-booked tickets or annual passes, can take advantage of ERT, with a selection of rides opening an hour before the rest of the park and before those with on-the-day tickets are allowed in.

Hex - The Legend of the Towers and Thirteen have now been removed from the ERT roster, with Duel - The Haunted House Strikes Back! and The Blade being added as replacements. Notably, this means that no rides from the Dark Forest area - or indeed the entire west side of the park - will be included in ERT. The earlier removal of Oblivion from the early morning opening periods also means that the current selection of attractions on offer features a heavy family focus - perhaps not surprising given that the promotion is aimed at hotel guests.

The new ERT line-up is listed below:

Meanwhile, Alton Towers has also cut the opening hours for several midweek Scarefest events by two hours. This marks a change in policy from recent years, when all of the events ended at 9pm. Now, weekday events from October 21-25 will instead end at 7pm. The events during the October half-term week - the busiest in Alton Towers' calendar - will still end at 9pm.

Shocking is the word just shocking - What is Merlin trying to do at time of press upset all the die hard fans or just put everyone off going. The park is still getting hell over the smiler opening late and having loads of down time still. Yesterday it was shut most of the day and again today. Ok we know this happens but you would think Alton would stay open that little bit later rather than kicking everyone in the teeth while there down. VERY bad move on the parks turn but thats just me. Whats next 5pm close forever

don't forget Nemesis which is also rumoured to carry on being included in the new ERT as well...

Bah! Shocking typo to miss that out of the list. Thanks Dean.

you may delete these comments if you wish, don't want to make you look bad haha... everyone makes mistakes - but on a serious not how could you forget the mighty nemesis! :O

Ha ha...I'm happy to admit my mistakes!

It was in the list when I started typing...apparently I must have deleted it by mistake :-0
