The Main Street Bakery at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom has reopened after a lengthy refurbishment period, and is now serving Starbucks drinks and snacks.
The updated outlet has retained its Victorian-style theming, but the indoor seating has been removed. The emphasis is now on rapid service, with dual queues being used to ensure throughput is maximised. Starbucks coffee and snacks are served alongside a limited selection of Disney-branded snacks, and Disney is clearly expecting the revamped bakery to prove very popular.
The Main Street Bakery has been closed since January 13, and was originally due to reopen in May. It is the first dining outlet at Walt Disney World to receive the Starbucks treatment, with Fountain View at Epcot due to follow suit in July. Further locations at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios will also offer Starbucks items.
Despite the Starbucks takeover, the Disney Dining Plan can still be used at the updated Main Street Bakery, with almost items on offer counting as one "snack" on the plan.
