LEGO X-wing Starfighter model

The arrival of a massive model of a Star Wars X-wing Starfighter was the highlight of the LEGO Star Wars Days events at LEGOLAND California, which were held on June 15-16, 2013.

The gigantic creation, billed as the "world's largest LEGO model", is 11-feet-tall, 43-feet-long and has a wingspan of 44 feet. Weighing in at more than 45,000 pounds, it was constructed using some 5 million LEGO bricks. It will be on display inside a hangar at LEGOLAND California throughout 2013.

Other highlights at the LEGO Star Wars Days events included a building competition in the Imagination Zone, trivia contests, a costume contest and opportunities to interact with Stormtroopers and Rebel fighters.

In the Miniland USA area, guests were challenged to hunt for the diminuitive Yoda, being rewarded with prizes. Meanwhile, above the park's Model Shop, Star Wars fans were able to display their own LEGO Star Wars creations.
