Details have been announced of the annual Fourth of July celebrations at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, which will take place during the week of July 1-7, 2013.

As usual, Walt Disney World will celebrate the occasion with a spectacular fireworks display above the Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle, dubbed "Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky." This will be held at 9pm on July 3 and 4, and at 10pm on July 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7.

Elsewhere in the Magic Kindom, Goofy, Donald and Pluto will take part in a special procession down Main Street, USA ahead of the daily Celebrate a Dream Come True parade. The trio will be dressed as a colonial fife and drum corps, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion. The Main Street Philharmonic, Citizens of Main Street and Walt Disney’s historic horse-drawn calliope will also take part in the "pre-parade".

Over at the Disneyland Resort, a similar fireworks spectacular will be held above Sleeping Beauty Castle each night at 9.30pm. At Disney California Adventure, and a special patriotic pre-show will be tagged onto performances of World of Color.

While it holds them every year, Disney is nonetheless billing the Fourth of July celebrations as part of its Limited Time Magic promotion. This involves different special events being held at Disney's US resorts every week during 2013. The company hopes that this will overcome a lack of major new attractions during the year, as well as drawing in guests for repeat visits.
