The Fast Food Boulevard area of the new Simpsons-themed Springfield land at Universal Studios Florida has opened to guests for the first time.
Fans of the long-running animated show are now able to dine at several recognisable locations, including Krusty Burger, Moe's Tavern, Luigi's Pizza, Lard Lad Donuts, the Frying Dutchman and Cletus' Chicken Shack. Universal is seeking to recreate its success with Butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter by serving up "authentic" Duff Beer at Moe's Tavern and a small-scale recreation of the Duff brewery.
The area hugs the shoreline of Universal Studios Florida's lagoon, on the opposite side to the under-construction Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley. One of the biggest new additions to the area will be a new flat ride, dubbed Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl, but this is yet to open to the public.
Orlando Attractions Magazine was on hand to check out the dining outlets, and captured several of them on video:
The Springfield area is based around The Simpsons Ride, which opened at Universal Studios Florida in 2008. Spoofing several Orlando attractions, the simulator-style attraction takes guests on a fly-by-night tour of the Krustyland amusement park, pursued by Sideshow Bob.
