Universal Studios Japan will host a live attraction themed around the Resident Evil videogame franchise for a limited time in summer 2013.

BioHazard Live, named after the Japanese version of the games, will be hosted in the park's Palace Theater. Guests will be equipped an imitation gun with a limited number of "bullets", which they will use to battle zombies and other monsters. No firm opening date has been given, although Famitsu points to a July debut.

Universal Studios Japan has previously hosted Resident Evil-themed attractions as part of its Halloween Horror Nights events, although without the interactivity on offer in BioHazard Live.

As in the video games, hordes of undead zombies terrorized guests in the Halloween Horror Nights attractions, with the mazes occupying the Gramercy Park area and the Terminator 2: 3-D building.
