SeaWorld Orlando's highly-anticipated new dark ride and animal exhibit, Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, will make its full public debut on May 24, 2013.
Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin is being billed by SeaWorld Orlando as "the world's coldest theme park ride". It uses a trackless ride system that enables it to offer a different experience very time, with 8-person vehicles carrying guests on their journey to "Antarctica".
Riders can choose between two different intensity levels - "Wild Expedition" or "Mild Expedition". The point-of-view video below, posted by Orlando Attractions Magazine and captured by Theme Park Review, shows the full Wild Expedition ride experience.
Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin's plot revolves around a gentoo penguin, who leads guests on an adventure through icy waters from a penguin's viewpoint. At the end of the ride, guests disembark their vehicles for a closer look at the penguins, in a similar experience to the existing Wild Arctic simulator attraction. The new exhibit houses gentoo, rockhopper, adelie and king penguins.
We recently listed SeaWorld Orlando's new ride as the most exciting new theme park attraction due to open in 2013.
