Drayton Manor's The Grill Inn restaurant has launched a new menu, which includes a range of burgers named after the theme park's most popular thrill rides.
Heading the new line-up at the eatery is the Apocalypse Mega Burger, named after the 177-feet-tall Apocalypse drop tower. Those taking on the Man v Food-style challenge of eating the enormous creation will have to contend with three 4oz burgers, barbecue pulled pork, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, barbecue sauce, cos lettuce, beef tomato and red onion, all served in a toasted bun with coleslaw and french fries on the side.
Other items on the updated menu inluded the Pandemonium burger (a chargrilled chicken breast burger), the Shockwave burger (an 8oz cheeseburger) and the Haunting Burger (a vegetarian cheeseburger). The American theme continues with racks of ribs, meatballs, barbecue chicken and giant hot dogs.
The restaurant's executive chef Carl Hickinbottom said: "Our new menu is heavily influenced by American cuisine, and we’ve done our best to put together a fun and flavoursome selection of dishes and sides that capture the tastes of the USA. The Apocalypse burger is a personal favourite of mine although it’s not for faint-hearted foodies, you need a big appetite."
The Grill Inn offers a range of lunch and dinner options for theme park visitors and guests at the Drayton Manor’s new hotel. Up to 188 people can be seated inside the restaurant, with room for a further 40 people on its outdoor patio. It is open daily from 10am, with members of the general public and local residents able to visit alongside theme park guests.
