Hong Kong Disneyland has officially opened Mystic Point, the last of three new lands added to the park as part of a major expansion plan.
The area is headlined by Mystic Manor, which offers a modern twist on the classic Haunted Mansion concept. The attraction utilises a version of the "trackless" ride system pioneered by Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland. The "Mystic Magneto-Electric Carriages" provide every rider with a front-row experience, with the cars being controlled by a wireless local positioning system.
The video below, posted by Inside the Magic, offers an insight into the process behind the creation of Mystic Manor:
Mystic Manor dominates Mystic Point, but the area also hosts the heavily-themed Explorer's Club Restaurant, as well as a photo area dubbed Garden of Wonders. Guests can hear stories from the grandnephews of Lord Henry Mystic (the fictional owner of Mystic Point) in the Mystic Point Freight Depot, and can stock up on souvenirs at The Archive Shop.
