Ahead of the debut of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin on May 24, 2013, SeaWorld Orlando has revealed that an exclusive Coca-Cola Freestyle flavor will be offered in the new area.
The "vanilla-infused" South Pole Chill drink will be one of dozens of other Coke flavors on offer from two beverage stations in the attraction. SeaWorld will also offer the "Cup That Cares" - a reusable souvenir cup that is designed to used with the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, and will offer interactive features.
The Cup That Cares will feature an embedded RFID chip which will be used to calculate the amount of Carbon Dioxide each guest saves when they opt to reuse the cup. SeaWorld claims that each refill saves approximately 27 grams of CO2. The park will donate $1 from each Cup That Cares sale to the not-for-profit SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund.
Two distinct varieties of the cup will be on offer. The first, priced at $9.99, will be adorned with pictures of Puck, the friendly penguin who stars in the Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin ride. The second, dubbed "Create A Cup That Cares", will enable guests to build their personalized penguin-shaped cup by choosing from more than 40 different body parts and accessories. These will be priced at $15.95, although some accessories will cost extra.
Refills from the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines will be priced at $0.99 each, and are available from several sites around SeaWorld Orlando.
Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin is being billed by SeaWorld Orlando as "the world's coldest theme park ride". The ride's plot will revolve around a gentoo penguin, who will lead guests on an adventure through icy waters from a penguin's viewpoint. At the end of the ride, guests will disembark their vehicles for a closer look at the penguins, in a similar experience to the existing Wild Arctic simulator attraction. The new exhibit will house gentoo, rockhopper, adelie and king penguins.
We recently listed SeaWorld Orlando's new ride as the most exciting new theme park attraction due to open in 2013.
